I’m having issues installing Snow Lep. It comes with an error saying that I need to clean the disk… It’s brand new and has no scratches on it. what can I do?
plz help
These actions seem to have helped others….
If you have access to another machine. Try making a copy of the DVD and using that to install.
Upgrade to 10.5.8 first, before even trying.
Make a disk image and save it to a thumb drive.
Try using Disk Sharing from another machine.
My disk had a few small white particles on it and many scratches, both long and short, as well as one clearly visibly deeper 1 cm scratch.
Needless to say I did not proceed to install SL, and I am now hoping that my store has an extra copy in stock.
I own a brand new Macbook Pro 15″. I had the exact same problem as most, “clean disc”, maybe 6 times in a row, then borrowed another dvd from my friend who successfully installed SL on his new Mac Mini. But I got the same problem again, “clean disc”.
What I tried, after reading people putting their spare memory in and after successful installation putting their memory back, was to just remove one of my memory sticks(I got 2×2GB) and after that the installation worked right away.
I start to wonder if the memory i “luckily” removed is faulty in some way or the SL installation is just weird.
